Susanna M. Bridgen, of Champion, passed away peacefully in the morning of her 88th birthday, November 14, 2018, at Hospice House in Poland. She was born November 14, 1930 in Bristolville, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Mary Josephine (Nichols) Smith.
Susanna graduated from Bristol High School and lived in Champion most of her life. She retired from General Electric after 15 years of service, and also from Master LaFrance Dry Cleaners in 2010. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Warren and Niles.
Susanna enjoyed puzzles, reading, feeding birds, playing cards, collecting numerous porcelain owls, and baking cookies with her daughters. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always put a smile on her face.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Alan) Ciminero of West Farmington, and Patricia Perrin and her longtime companion, Dennis Bailey, of Warren; three grandchildren: Chip (Jessica) Ciminero, Stacey (James) Dennis, and Krissy (Matthew) Myers; six great-grandchildren; and her pet dog, Cocoa.
Besides her parents, Susanna is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph D. Richards on August 25, 1963; her second husband, Robert C. Bridgen on January 13, 2018; her daughter, Barbara M. Richards on April 20, 2016; and her sister, Dorothy L. Curtis on April 15, 2006.
Per Susanna’s request, Cremation has taken place. Private services will be conducted at Crown Hill Burial Park at a later date.
