Steven J. Sardich

Steven John Sardich, 87, of Warren, passed away peacefully Monday, October 1, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 5, 1931 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, the son of Steve and Mary (Szabo) Sardich.

He married Donis Marie Gillespie on November 17, 1962 in Warren.  They had three sons: David Lee (Cathy) Sardich of Apollo, Pa., Timothy Ray Sardich (deceased), and Edward Alan Sardich of Warren.

They also had seven grandchildren: David Lee Sardich II of Warren, Joshua John Sardich of Howland, Robert Wilbur Hecker of Warren, Nikia Cady (Ed) O’Laughlin, Amber Cady (Mike), Jamie Cady (Mike), and Elaina Cady, all of Pennsylvania; and nine great-grandchildren: Mason David Sardich of Champion, Colton John Sardich of Howland, Paige Alexandra Lane, Dylan Matthew Lane, Garrett James Lane, Ryan Michael Berry, Ella Marie Cady, Lillian Grace Cady, and Zachary Eli Cady, all of Pennsylvania.

Preceding him in death are his parents; three sisters: Katherine Mack, Sophie Pinion, and Anna Ryder; two brothers, Mitchell Sardich and Michael Dologusin; a son, Timothy Ray Sardich; and a daughter-in-law, Marlene Hecker.

Steve graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in January 1950, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in November 1950, and served until July 1953.  He started work at Thomas Steel Strip in July 1955, and retired April 1993 after 38 years.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Steve was well-loved by all and will be missed by all, including numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are 12:00 noon Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. N.W., Warren, with Rev. Kyle Tennant officiating.  Burial will follow at Pineview Memorial Park.  Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, and 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday at the church.
