Raymond W. Zedaker, 85, of Hubbard, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 13, 2018 at home. He was born October 23, 1932 in Bloomfield, the son of Leal and Jenny (Lepper) Welchman, and later adopted by Harry and Grace Zedaker. He had lived in the area all his life.
A graduate of Vernon High School, Ray served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an electric motor repairman for J.B. Winkle. A member of Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church in Liberty, he spent 25 years as a volunteer for the Assemblies of God, as a leader and as senior commander for Royal Rangers.
Fond memories of Ray live on with his beloved wife of over 60 years, Lillian (Bloom) Zedaker, whom he married February 4, 1958; three sons: Raymond E. (Tamara) of Hubbard, Leonard E. (Nancy) of Hubbard, and Eric W. Zedaker of McDonald; two daughters, Susan G. Savon of Austintown and Diane (Daryl) Wolfe of Mineral Ridge; seven grandchildren: Yvonne, Samuel II, Jennifer, Bridget, Joshua, Jason, and Rachel; and nine great-grandchildren: Madison, Jordan, Landon, Deacon, Katherine, Nicole, Rachel, Gabriella, and Peyton.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son-in-law, Samuel Savon; and many brothers and sisters.
Services are 11:00 am Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Rd., Niles, with Pastor Bill Sawtelle officiating. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, and 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the church.
