Pollyanna Jane Batchelder, 90, of Warren, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a very short illness. She was born July 2, 1928 in Warren, the daughter of Harry L., Sr. and Carol (Redman) Swain, and had lived in the area most of her life.
Pollyanna attended Howland High School and later worked at both Warren General and Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She attended First United Methodist Church. She was a caregiver to many over the years. She was known for her caring nature and unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren were important aspects in her life. She was devoted to her family and helped raise her grandchildren. Pollyanna was creative and conveyed her talents through arts such as painting and crochet.
She is sadly missed by four children: Terrance (Creta) Batchelder of Lordstown, Darlene (Delbert) Yeager of Warren, Kevin Batchelder of Warren, with whom she made her home, and William Batchelder of Cortland; seven grandchildren: Rebecca, Terrance II, Melinda, Jeffrey, Jill Crystal and Lindsey; fourteen great-grandchildren: Spencer, Bruce, Pollyanna, Parker, Dallas, Kyle, Ethan, Jocelyn, Krista, Micah, Autumn, Aaron, Austin and Charlotte Jane; and two great-great-grandchildren, Liliana and Lyla, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her loving husband, Delbert Ray Batchelder, whom she married March 28, 1948 and who died October 2, 1981; a son, Wayne Paul Batchelder; a granddaughter, Detra; and six brothers: Robert, Harry L, Jr., Paul F., twins Thomas and Richard, and David R. Swain.
Per her wish, a private service and interment will be held at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Service to be conducted by Pastor Barbara Dobranchin.
