Mildred Bernacky

Mildred Bernacky, age 101, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at home.  She was born March 24, 1917 in Monaca, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Zandersky) Bernacky.

Mildred was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.  She retired from Republic Steel in the metallurgical lab.

She was known by her many friends and neighbors as Mildred or Aunt Mill.  She had a kind, loving heart and was always baking her delicious nut roll, cookies, and cakes.  If she knew that something happened to one of her friends, she would bake for them, until she was 92.  She was also an excellent seamstress.

Mildred is one of the longest and oldest members of St. John Paul II Parish in Warren.

She is survived by one niece, Sandy (Shelby) Barrickman of Bristolville; two great-nieces, Jill (Phil) Miller of Howland and Deanna (Dave) Nuccetelli of Hilliard, Ohio; and three great-nephews: Alex, Clay, and Trent, all of Hilliard.

Besides her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Isabel Molnar.

Calling hours will be held 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North St. N.W., Warren.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mildred’s name either to St. John Paul II Parish, 1401 Moncrest Dr. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44485, or to Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle, Suite E, Austintown, Ohio 44515.

The family would like to thank her personal caregiver, Kelley, for all the love and care she provided to our beloved aunt.  Also thanks to the techs and nurses from Southern Care Hospice for all their compassion.
