Margaret Rimar

Margaret Stern Rimar, age 91, of Warren, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland.  She was born March 4, 1927 in Warren, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna Stern, and lived in the area all her life.

Margaret retired from Warren City Schools after many years as a cafeteria worker.  An avid bowler, she had been a league officer in a number of leagues.  She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and squirrels, and was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

She is sadly missed by her two daughters, Lori Nguyen of Columbus and LeeAnne Rimar, her caregiver, of Warren; a grandson, Benjamin Nguyen of Columbus; a granddog, Holly and grandbird, Amigo; three sisters: Anne Geddes and Marion Powell, both of Warren, and Ruth Stern of Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Preceding her in death is her former husband, John R. Rimar; a daughter, Cathy Lee Rimar; two sisters, Marie and Rosemarie; and five brothers: Rudolph, Howard, Edward, William “Lover”, and Harry.

The family is grateful for the loving care given to Margaret by the staff of Shepherd of the Valley-Howland and Hospice of the Valley.  The family would also like to thank Mark St. John and Kathy Fuller for their loving support and assistance during Margaret’s illness.
