Ludwick Herycyk, 70, of Cortland, passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2018 at Washington Square Healthcare Center in Warren. He was born February 2, 1948 in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Evelyn (Ruggieri) Herycyk, and had lived in New Jersey and Florida as well as Ohio.
A 1966 graduate of Northern Valley High School in Old Tappan, N.J., Ludwick was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. A salesman for Harley-Davidson, he enjoyed cars and motorcycles.
Fond memories of Ludwick live on with his loving wife, Joyce (Finley) Almashy, whom he married July 4, 2003; two children: Tony of Florida and Rachel Herycyk of Indiana; three stepsons: Shawn Almashy of Newton Falls, Donald (Courtney) Almashy of Columbus, and Adam Almashy of Georgetown, Pa.; five grandchildren: Aubry, Addison, Megan, Aden, and Brodie; a sister, Lorraine (Nunzio) Scordo of Struthers; and three nephews: Nunzio, Lorenzo, and Angelo Scordo.
His parents precede him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Rev. Calvin Mason officiating. Full military honors will be conferred following the service. Friends may call 2:00 to 3:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
