Leroy E. Thompson, Jr., 36, of Warren, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the emergency room of St. Joseph Health Center, due to illness. He was born November 14, 1982 in Ellwood City, Pa., the son of Leroy E., Sr. and Elizabeth “Liz” (Smith) Thompson, and lived most of his life in Ellwood City and New Castle, Pa.
A graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Leroy had worked for Infocision and also as a dietary aide at Continuing Health Care at the Ridge. A quiet man, he loved pick-up games of football and basketball, and also enjoyed video games and watching videos on You-Tube.
Precious memories of Leroy live on with parents, Leroy Sr. “Hoopie” and Liz Thompson of New Castle; his devoted wife, Cathleen (Tury) Thompson, whom he married September 6, 2014; his sister, Jackie Arrow (Eric, Sr.) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Noreen Tury of Warren; two nieces; two nephews; and a host of other friends and family who dearly loved him.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents and his father-in-law, Joseph Tury.
Services are 12:00 noon Friday, June 7, 2019 at Risen Savior Christian Church, 800 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, Pa. 16117, with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Friends may call 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the church.
