Laura M. Petrella

Laura M. Petrella, 81, of Hubbard, passed away peacefully Monday, April 23, 2018 at home.  She was born August 16, 1936 in Hubbard, the daughter of Antonio and Angela (DiCioccio) DiCesare.

A graduate of Struthers High School, Laura had worked as a meat cutter for Sparkle Market and other stores for over thirty years.  A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Hubbard VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Hubbard Football Moms, she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, word searches, and playing games on her tablet.  If she had gas in her car, she was ready to go anywhere.

She is sadly missed by her daughter, Debbie Petrella of Hubbard; two grandchildren, Christopher and Cayla Duncan; two great-grandchildren, Nickolas Duncan and Lucca Stewart; a special niece, Mary Ann Stabile Lark; and many other nieces, nephews, and their families.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her loving husband, Rocco Petrella, whom she married October 20, 1956 and who died May 8, 2004; a son, Samuel Petrella, who died August 5, 1982; and three brothers: John, Joseph, and Emerick DiCesare.

Per her wishes, cremation is taking place.  A memorial Mass will be conducted 11:30 am Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hubbard.  Her urn will be laid to rest immediately following Mass at Hubbard Union Cemetery.  Friends may call 11:00 to 11:30 am Saturday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MVI Hospice, 4891 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
