Kenneth E. Koehler, Sr., 79, of Howland, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 23, 2018 at home. He was born January 4, 1939 in Warren, the son of Phillip, Sr. and Mary (Drescher) Koehler, and had lived in the area all his life.
Ken attended Warren G. Harding High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a great third baseman in his day, with the New York Mets offering him a tryout. Ken retired from Copperweld Steel and enjoyed the Indians, the Browns, the Buckeyes, and sitting in the yard.
He is sadly missed by his beloved wife, Mona (Weimer) Koehler, whom he married nearly 60 years ago, on June 6, 1959; five children: Kenneth E. (Deborah) Koehler, Jr. of Champion, Karen Shehadi of Columbus, Jeffery (Cynthia) Koehler of Salisbury, N.C., Brenda (Jeffery) File of Vienna, and Pamela (Donald) Yannacey of Howland; sixteen grandchildren: Kimberly, Kenny III, Danielle, Jacob, Hesham, Shaun, Tysier, Drew, Phillip, Zachary, Joshua, Bobby, Michelle, Kayla, Samantha, and Phillip; twenty-two great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Jack) Crawford of Fowler; and a brother, James (Martha) Koehler of Bristolville.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a brother, Phillip Koehler, Jr.; and three grandchildren: John Williams, Jr., Phillip Earl Williams, and Jon David Williams.
Services are 11:00 am Friday, September 28, 2018 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
