Kenneth Lee Bader, 64, of Parkman and formerly of Howland, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at 3:24 pm in University Hospital Geauga Medical Center following a five month illness with Glioblastoma.

Ken was born on January 18, 1954 in Mauston, Wisconsin the son of John James Bader and Betty Lou Gilchrist and was a graduate of Mauston High School.

Kenneth served his country aboard the USS America as an Electrician in the United States Navy.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  Kenneth was discharged on April 13, 1977.

He retired as a technician with United Telephone Company of Ohio, now known as Century Link for over 35 years.  Kenneth was a union man and served as the IBEW 1996 Union President.  He was also an active member of FAONEO, serving as president from 2011-2012.

Kenneth was a very strong, loving and giving person.  He enjoyed hunting, and the friendship of all who knew him.

He left behind by his wife Gertrudes Desi Estapia Bader whom he married on June 1, 1996; his mother Betty Lou Gilchrist Bader of Mauston, WI; a daughter Danielle (Jason) Boyles of Sparta, WI; two step daughters Ida (Chuck) Seckler of Youngstown and Mailene Glaspell of Warren; a brother Richard (Mayla) Bader of Mauston, WI and four granddaughters Chelsea Glaspell, and Destenee, Jaelynn and Addyson Boyles.

Besides his father, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother John Bader Jr and a son-in-law Patrick Glaspell.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service in the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Cremation will follow.
