Karen L. Olsen

Karen L. Olsen, 75, of Warren, passed away peacefully Monday, January 7, 2019 at home.  She was born May 25, 1943 in Wheeling, W.Va., the daughter of Harry and JoAnn VandenBosch, and had lived in Ohio since 1957.

A little lady with a will of iron, Karen had worked as a construction foreman. She belonged to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Champion and the Warren Civic Music Association.  She liked to sew, shop, and buy dresses for her granddaughters for the holidays.  She loved Handel’s ice cream and loved to receive Handel's gift cards.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Fond memories of Karen live on with her beloved husband Ben, whom she married October 3, 1987; a son, Scott Clark  of Youngstown; a daughter, Joanne (George) Clark-Showen of Niles; a stepdaughter, Lynn Ellis of Colorado; four grandchildren: Kara and Alexia Showen, and Kathrine and Michaele Ellis; and two sisters, Vicki (Mark) Rossi and Joyce Ann (Jimmy) Bailing, both of Canfield.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her first husband, Larry Clark, who died in 1986; and two brothers, Ben and Carl VandenBosch.

Services are 12:00 noon Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5734 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, with Rev. Ann Marie Winter officiating.  Friends may call 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Monday at the church.
