Joseph A. “George” Chaky, 89, of Warren, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 9:41 p.m. in his home under the comforting care of hospice.
Joe was born in Masury, Ohio on September 14, 1929 the son of the late Andrew and Mary Ondish Chaky.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and enlisted at the age of 14. Joe served his country in Military Police division in Panama.
Joe retired after working for 33 years with Packard Electric as a tow motor operator.
Joe was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren. He enjoyed sports and he bowled in the Packard League. Most of all, Joe helped all of his neighbors; lending a helping hand.
Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years the former Julia Valent; three sons Joseph (Gail) Chaky Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY; Gary Chaky of Southington, John Chaky of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter Marie Al-Sadi of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren Bashar, Ameerah, Christopher and Ryan and a sister Dorothy Kerber.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two infant daughters; sisters Ann Boor, Helen Bartholomew, Irene Chaky, Mary C. Campbell and an infant sister Elsie Chaky and by two brothers John Chaky and Andrew Chaky Jr.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Warren with Fr. Simeon B. Sibenik, pastor of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Joseph’s name to SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 180 Belvedere NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
