Joseph Silvestri

Joseph Silvestri, 89, of Warren died Sunday morning May 6, 2018 at Autumn Hills Nursing Home. He was born February 4, 1929 in Vieste, Foggia, Italy. He came to the United States in 1954.

Before he came to this country, he had been a policeman in Torino, Italy. He had retired from General Motors in Lordstown. Joseph enjoyed Gardening, canning and making wine. He was a cat lover and had a big heart for lost animals.

His first wife, Nancy Silvestri Mowery died in 2012.

He leaves his daughter, Patti, husband, John Patros of Warren; a son, Richard Silvestri of West Farmington; his nephew, Antonio and his wife, Cathy Silvestri of Girard, and his godchild, Nella Silvestri. He also leaves his companion, Fran Sevastos of Warren, along with many nieces and nephews in Italy.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4-6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
