John Frazier Murray, 84, of Warren, passed away 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his residence.
He was born August 4, 1933 in Warren, to Ned Murray, Jr. and Mary Will Frazier Murray. Both parents precede him in death.
In 1956 he married Rubie C. Murray, who preceded him in death in 2007.
Mr. Murray retired in 1989 from Packard Electric after 33 years of service. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Murray was a dedicated member of Third Christian Church, where he took on many roles. He enjoyed working Sudoku puzzles, watching cowboy movies, cutting his grass, and watering his flowers.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, John (Amber) Murray of Cincinnati and Elijah Murray of Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters: Lucretia Murray, Catherine May, and Kim Murray, all of Warren; three brothers: Ned III (Clara), Elijah (Barbara), and Flemon (Lillian) Murray; one sister, Rosa M. Hudson; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Annie B. Miles, and by two brothers, William Murray and Joseph Murray.
Visitation/wake services are 9:30 to 10:30 am Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Third Christian Church in Warren, with services officiated by Rev. Robert Faulkner, Sr. at 10:30 am. Services will conclude with interment at Braceville Township Cemetery.
