John H. Dunkelman, age 96, formerly of Niles, passed away peacefully March 31, 2018 at Casa Mora Nursing Home in Bradenton, Fla. He was born September 7, 1921 in Mineral Ridge, the son of Charles F. and Emily (Miles) Dunkelman.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, John worked in shipping for Alcan Aluminum for 25 years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.
Fond memories of John live on with his daughter, Patricia Singeltary of Bradenton, Fla.; a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife, Theresa (Hotham) Dunkelman; his second wife, Phyllis (Monteneri) Dunkelman; a granddaughter and a grandson; four sisters; and three brothers.
Services are 11:00 am Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the chapel at Pineview Memorial Park, where friends may call an hour prior to the service. Deacon Frank Marino from St. Stephen’s Church will officiate.
