Gregory G. Wedin

Gregory George Wedin, 67, of Warren, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at home.  He was born September 20, 1950 in Norfolk, Va., the son of George LeRoy and Marie Rose (White) Wedin.

Greg proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1975 as a photographer’s mate.

He led a life for our veterans and served as Trumbull County commissioner for veterans services. He also served as a vocational coach for the AmVets in Vienna, Ohio, teaching job skills and working with computers. 

He was a skilled photographer, and loved hunting and fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Monica Louise Goetzinger of Elwell, Mich. and Marcia Ann Elzein of Sidon, Lebanon; nieces Bana Elzein of Redlodge, Suffolk, England and Jill Goetzinger Lamb;  and nephews Michael Goetzinger and Brian Goetzinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents George LeRoy Wedin and. Marie White Wedin. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations either to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization to provide housing for veterans and their families while receiving care at VA hospitals, or to Trumbull County Veterans Services at 253 E. Market Street, Warren, Ohio 44481.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-St. James location in Warren.  A memorial service will immediately follow at the Trumbull County Veterans Service Office, 253 East Market Street, Warren.
