Gary L. Johnson, 72, of Warren, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Hospice House in Poland. He was born March 25, 1946 in Warren, the son of Chester and Victoria (Clay) Johnson, and had lived in the area all his life.
Gary attended Niles McKinley High School and worked for 35 years at WCI Steel. A member of St. John Paul II Parish, he enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, his guns, his man-cave in the garage, his Harley-Davidson, and his dog, Harley Ryder Johnson.
Fond memories of Gary live on with his loving wife, Rosalind (Yash) Johnson, whom he married December 16, 1991; two daughters, Sherel (George) Borak of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Sandra (Walter) Siembieda of Chambersburg, Pa.; four grandchildren: Matthew (Kristin), Megan Rose, and Allyssa Lynn Borak, and Katelyn Siembieda; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Kate Borak; two brothers, James (Paula) of Howland and John (Rita) Johnson of McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
His parents precede him in death.
A memorial Mass will be conducted 10:00 am Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish in Warren, with Rev. Chris Henyk officiating. His urn will be laid to rest at Kerr Cemetery following the service.
