Francis "Frank" P. McClain, 78, of Warren and formerly of Garfield Heights, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren.  He was born October 17, 1938 in Cleveland, the son of Francis and Cecelia (Venesky) McClain.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. McClain attended both Benedictine and Garfield Heights High Schools.  A steelworker, he enjoyed all Cleveland sports and coaching his granddaughter’s teams.  He was also a race car fan.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy (Khas) McClain, whom he married June 29, 1963; two children: Darlene McClain of Cortland and Dean McClain of Stow; two grandchildren: Nicole (Timothy) Hanna and Kaleigh Maglionico; two sisters: Shirley Jeric of Aurora and Kathleen Kolbay of Westlake; and a brother, Thomas McClain of Maryland.  His parents precede him in death.

Per his request, cremation is taking place. Services are private
