Frances M. Ambrosy

 Frances M. Ambrosy, 89, of Warren, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:03 PM at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

She was born March 19, 1929, in Ellsworth, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Irma Marshalek.

Frances “Fran”, graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1947.  On May 14, 1949, she married Stanley A. “Fleep” Ambrosy and they moved to Warren in 1955.

Fran worked at Packard Electric, retiring after 38 years.  A woman of deep religious faith, Fran was an active member of St Pius X then St. John Paul II Church and the church’s Altar and Rosary Society.  She had many interests and lived life fully.

Family and friends were central to Fran’s life.  She took great pride in her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed hosting family gatherings that always included friends and neighbors.  She was a wonderful baker known for her delicious nut rolls.  Over the years, Fran was a regular card player and was an active participant in one card club for over 60 years.  An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching tennis.

She is survived by her three children. Curtis (Victoria) Ambrosy of Cortland, Melanie (Jerry) Wieczorkowski and Lisa (Jeff) Johnson both of Las Vegas, Nevada; 6 grandchildren Arielle(George) Donkers, Eric Ambrosy, Natalie Ambrosy, Scott Crews, Darrell Crews, and Jeffery Crews; 2 great grandchildren, Colin and Jacob Crews , two sisters Irma Cheetham of Marshfield, Ma., and Josephine Connolly of Pittsburgh, Pa., and many close nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley, who died Dec. 9, 2010, brothers Joseph, Frank, Rudolph, Anthony, George, and John Marshalek and one sister, Mildred Koskoden.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10 AM, with the recitation of the rosary at 9:30 AM at St John Paul II Parish, 420 North St. NW, Warren , with the Rev Christopher Henyk officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Champion.  Per Fran’s request, there will be no calling hours.
