Edward M. Carroll, 98, of Warren, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Washington Square Health Care Center. He was born July 26, 1919 in Bridgeville, Pa., the son of William and Violet (Barwell) Carroll.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was awarded a Purple Heart, Ed worked at Thomas Steel Strip Corp. for 44 years. A member of First Community Church of Leavittsburg, he was formerly involved with the Civil Defense, and enjoyed baseball, football, bowling, and church activities.
He is sadly missed by his daughter, Gaye Martin of Niles; three grandchildren: Tracie (Bill) Martin, Larry (Stephanie) Wilmoth, and Daniel (Kristina) Flanigan; eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his beloved wife, Dorothy (Lewis) Carroll, whom he married July 6, 1940 and who died June 13, 2007; and a son-in-law, John Martin.
Services are 10:00 am Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the chapel at Pine Knoll Cemetery on Hewitt-Gifford Road, Warren Township. Burial at Pine Knoll will follow the service.
