Darnell W. "Buster" Sparks, 66, of Los Angeles, Calif. and formerly of Warren, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Los Angeles. He was born April 8, 1952 in Warren, the son of Donald and Mildred (Washington) Sparks, and had lived in California since 1974.
A 1970 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Darnell worked at General Motors-Lordstown before moving to California and becoming a funeral director. He enjoyed fishing and family.
Fond memories of Darnell live on with three sisters: Cynthia, Dorlette, and Jocelin Sparks, all of Warren; four brothers: Anthony of Canton, Wendell (Pam) of Warren, Sheldon of Warren, and Efrem Sparks of Atlanta, Ga.; a host of nieces and nephews; and his California friends, who were his family away from Warren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a brother, Kenneth McLaughlin; and a nephew, Maurice Hardin.
Services are 11:00 am Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. James Church of God in Christ, 1838 Main Ave. S.W., Warren, with Rev. Dr. Melvin Howard, Sr. officiating. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday at the church. The family will also receive friends at the home of his sister, Dorlette Sparks, at 3133 Northwest Blvd. N.W., Warren.
