Christiana E Askerneese

Christiana E. Askerneese, 77, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7:50 p.m. at Briarfield Manor in Austintown under the comforting care of hospice.

Christiana was born on February 20, 1942 in Sharon, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Hugh Clyde and Theodora Arnold Askerneese and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1959 graduate of Sharon High School, Christiana furthered her education with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University. 

She was a self-employed accountant for many years and was a member of York Ave Church of God in Warren.

In and throughout her life, Christiana enjoyed minding her own business.

She is survived by her daughter Yvonne (Willie) Conley of Reynoldsburg; a niece whom she helped to raise Janine Overton of Youngstown; a sister Bertha Thomas of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren Preston Dewitt, Willie Timothy II, Shalon Christiana and Xavier Alexander Singleton Conley and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Christiana was preceded in death by a daughter Christina Preston and two sisters Gertrude Berryman and Patricia Overton.

Family and friends are invited to call from Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the York Avenue Church of God, 872 York Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44485, where a going home service celebrating Christiana’s life will take place immediately following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Brown, Pastor officiating.

The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Christiana’s name to the American Cancer Society.
