Betty Jean McClellan

Betty Jean McClellan, 88, of Champion, was called to her heavenly home Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Windsor House in Champion. She was born January 14, 1931 in Terra Alta, W. Va., the daughter of Robert L. and Ethel V. (Grimm) Niner, moving to Ohio in 1963.

A homemaker, Betty was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed flowers, gardening, and attending church functions.

She is sadly missed by her four children: Sandra K. Dodrill (Kenneth) of Leavittsburg, Robert L. Higginbotham (Linda) of Jacksonville, Fla., Terri L. O’Hare of Niles, and Jeffrey S. McClellan of Warren; eleven grandchildren: Gregory Dodrill, Marci Presjnar (Matthew), Carolyn Higginbotham, Robert Higginbotham, Jr., Joshua Higginbotham, William Higginbotham, Megan O’Hare, Craig Morgan, Caitlin Fox (Daniel), Ryan McClellan, and Laura McClellan; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Raymond P. McClellan, whom she married in September, 1963 and who passed in February, 2011; a granddaughter, Stacie Dodrill; two sisters, Rita Niner and Shirley Gloeckner; and two brothers, Donald Niner and Joseph Niner.

Services are 12:00 noon Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with her son-in-law, Rev. Ken Dodrill, officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Knoll Cemetery.  Friends may call 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
