Becky Albrecht, 66, of Girard, passed away April 26, 2019 at Hospice House in Poland, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 16, 1952 in Lexington, Va., the daughter of Norman Coffey and Myra (Grove) Coffey, and had lived in Ohio since 1980.
A strong woman with a heart for enhancing the lives of others, Becky earned an associate’s degree from Kent State University. She had worked tirelessly as an advocate for abuse victims at women’s shelters and rape crisis centers. An avid shooter, she belonged to the Vienna Fish and Game Club, and also to the Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association.
Precious memories of Becky live on with her devoted husband, Richard A. Albrecht, whom she married March 25, 1977; two sons, David Chittum, (Kim) of Texas and Richard Albrecht, Jr. (Nelim) of Chicago, Ill.; two grandsons; a sister, Lydia Coffey of Buena Vista, Va.; and the many people she had helped over many years.
Her parents precede her in death.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the fellowship hall of the Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 North Market Street, with Pastor Vicki Kelley officiating.
