Anna S. Rega, 93, of Liberty, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Briarfield Manor in Austintown.  She was born July 9, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of Ilario and Filomena (Tesone) Sacchini, and had lived in the area all her life.

A family-oriented homemaker, Anna was a lifelong member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Youngstown, where she belonged to the Mothers of the Crucifix. 

Surviving are two sons-in-law, Timothy Thomas of Liberty and William Clawson of Davidson, N.C.; and two grandsons, Jonathan (Rachel) Thomas of Wilmington, N.C. and William (Toni) Clawson of Cornelius, N.C.  Preceding her in death are her husband, Albert “Eugene” Rega, who died February 3, 1999; two daughters, Judith Thomas and Jeanie Clawson; a brother, Joseph Sacchini; and a sister, Yolanda Troll.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Youngstown, with The Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.  Friends may call 9:00 to 10:00 am Tuesday at the church.
