Michael A. Compton

WARREN – Michael A. Compton, age 72, entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.   He was born August 19, 1951 in Cleveland, the son of Geneva Compton, living most of his life in the Warren area.

A graduate of Leavittsburg High School,  Michael became the first Black journeyman electrician in the local IBEW. He was active in the union and enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, hunting, and all other sports, in addition to traveling.

Precious memories of Michael live on with his sister, Johnsene Compton of Tucson, Ariz.; his fiancée, Janie Carson, with whom he shared love and laughter for over twenty-five years; his niece, Kellie Garrett; and many other friends and family who think of him fondly and will miss him.

His mother and his sister, Huntess Compton, precede him in death.

Calling hours for Michael are 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon Saturday, with Rev. Kevin Carson officiating.  All who knew Michael are welcome to attend and celebrate his good life.
