Warren – Mary Elizabeth Petrilla passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. Mary was born June 8, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Beneigh) Renn. Mary was a member of Saint John Paul II Parish in Warren. She had been a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Christ Our King Church. Mary was also a member of the Lordstown CCL. Mary will be sadly missed by her children: Thomas (Linda) Petrilla of Howland, Larry (Wendy) Petrilla of Ravenna and Kathy (Edward) Politsky of Howland; one sister: Dorothy Mathes of New Mexico; grandchildren: Tim Petrilla, Kristen Petrilla, Jennifer Politsky, Jonathan Politsky, Michael Petrilla, Jeremy Petrilla and Brendan Hurst; and great grandchildren: Isabel, Olivia, Connor, Colin, and Aubrey. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Petrilla, whom she married February 8, 1944 and passed away August 22, 1997; and one brother: Paul Renn. The family would like to thank the staff of Shepherd of the Valley – Howland for their excellent care and compassion provided to Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Saint John Paul II Parish, 420 North St. NW, Warren, Ohio 44483 with Reverend Christopher Henyk officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity in Mary’s name.
