Mary J. Groom, 70, of Howland, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, with her loving family by her side.  She was born July 18, 1947 to George and Betty Brown.

She was a 1966 graduate of Howland High School.  She enjoyed motorcycle riding, was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association, and a member of the Zodiac Motorcycle Club.  She also enjoyed gambling and shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Groom of Howland, with whom she shared 50 years; three children: daughter Michelle Groom of Howland, and sons Michael (Tammy) of Indiana and Mark Groom of Howland; six grandchildren: Stephanie Groom of Indiana, Jeffrey Groom and Christine (Dustin) Hawkins, both of Washington state, Jonathan Groom, Mark Groom II, and Elizabeth Groom, all of Howland; a great-grandson, Forrest Hawkins of Washington state; a brother, George D. (Edith) Brown of Boardman; a sister, Ellen Rowland of Howland; and a nephew, Jim Diamond of Southington.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Sandy Genet and Tina Little.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.
