Lewis "Lou" Paquet, 86, of Warren, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Paquet was born on October 9, 1930 in Sharon, Pa., the son of Jules and Josephine Dusi Paquet.

A lifelong Trumbull county resident, he was a 1948 graduate of Brookfield High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home, he attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 1955 with a degree in Horticulture.

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Scanlon for 64 years. Together they had two children, LuAnn ( Zane ) Mathews and Michael Paquet. He also leaves behind three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Brendan ( April ) Mathews of St. Louis, Missouri, Trevor (fiancée Amy Hofmeister ) and Kiley (fiancée Carter Browning ), both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Josephine Paquet.

Lou and Mary Ann owned and operated Warren Florist and Greenhouse from 1959 to 1984. He worked as a horticultural broker from 1964 to 2012 with an expertise in geraniums, pot mums and azaleas. He spent the last 3 years sharing his knowledge of horticulture with developmentally disadvantaged individuals through Earth Angel Farm.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Earth Angel Farm Lou Paquet scholarship fund, which will benefit disadvantaged individuals who wish to pursue educational opportunities in horticulture.

A Mass of special intention will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland at a future date.
