Warren - Kathryn M. Haas passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Humility House in Austintown. Kathryn was born August 12, 1921 in Oil City, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late George and May Bosela Williams. She was a 1940 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. During World War II she was employed at Trumbull Lamp in Warren. Kathryn was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Worship Site and an active member of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. On July 27, 1946, Kathryn was united into marriage with William J. Haas and together they shared 63 loving years until his passing on January 9, 2010. A member of America’s Greatest Generation, Katy grew up during the depression and she passed along all she had experienced. Hard work, loyalty and independence were but a few of the lessons taught. She also believed in a fair and firm approach. She had a fair aim and a firm hand when called upon and enjoyed a cold beer in the summer. Kathryn will be sadly missed by her daughter: Patricia (Raymond) Gordon of Austintown; her sons: Michael Haas of Kent and Robert (Denise) Haas of Champion; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her guard dog Molly. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters: Ann Drebing and her twin Mary Botko. The family would like to thank the staff at Humility House in Austintown and everyone that helped with Mom through the later years. Caregivers are truly God’s Angels on earth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Building Fund, 185 Laird Ave NE, Warren, Ohio 44483 in Kathryn’s name. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Worship Site, 1234 High St. NE, Warren, Ohio with Reverend Craig A. McHenry officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Rd. NE, Warren and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.
