John P. Fuzo, 82, of Howland, died at home Wednesday, May 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 25, 1934 in New York, N.Y., the son of Victor and Matilda (Gogal) Fuzo, and had lived in Trumbull County for many years.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, John retired from the U.S. Post Office.  A member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the American Legion, he enjoyed the New York Yankees and Giants.  He was also an avid golfer and loved to follow local sports, especially the ones in which his grandchildren participated.

Surviving are his wife, Antonia G. (Gonzalez) Fuzo, whom he married April 21, 1956; a son, John V. (Laurie Karasiewicz-Fuzo) Fuzo of Cortland; four daughters: Lori M. Fuzo of Cortland, Karen (Ora) Summerfield of Howland, Toni-Ann Fuzo-Tikkanen (David Tikkanen) of Austintown, and Roberta (Anthony) Rotunno of Meadville, Pa.; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Fuzo of Roselle Park, N.J. and Frank Fuzo of Flemington, N.J.; and a sister, Margaret Iwicki of Flemington, N.J.

Per John’s request, funeral services were private. Interment has taken place at Howland Township Cemetery.  Material contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org.
