Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Barrett, 69, of Liberty, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hospice House in Poland.  She was born December 17, 1947 in Columbus, the daughter of Algie and Ruby (Foster) Thompkins.

A member of St. James Church of God in Christ, Jacqueline was also active with the International Church Ushers Association, 100 Women, and was a Church Mother.  She retired from General Motors and enjoyed travel, church, and most of all, her family.

Surviving are her husband, Jonathan Barrett, Jr., whom she married December 15, 1975; a daughter, Tia Barrett of Pennsylvania; a niece whom she raised, Regina Thompkins of Liberty, along with her four children; a granddaughter, Rayona Arnold; two sisters: Gloria Thompkins, Maxine Watkins, both of Youngstown; a foster sister, Katheryn Carlisle of Youngstown; five brothers: Algie (Loretta) of Youngstown, Raymond (Lachelle) of Campbell, Eugene (Beverly) of New York, James of Youngstown, and Bobby (Linda) Thompkins of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Her parents precede her in death.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. James Church of God in Christ in Younsgtown, with Elder Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery.  Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday at the church.  Everyone is requested to wear bright colors to the service, in her honor.
