Dorothy Drabiniak Obituary

WARREN - On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, our dear mother, Dorothy Phyllis Drabiniak went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

Mom was born in New Castle, Pa. on August 11, 1925 to Anthony and Teresa Monico.  Mom attended school during her younger years in New Castle. Family obligations brought her back to Warren, Ohio in her early teen years.

Mom eventually met and married the love of her life, Michael Stephen Drabiniak, and the two were married on October 6, 1945.  They were married for 35 years until Dad passed away on May 3, 1980 after a battle with cancer.

Mom is survived by her three children and their spouses: Donna and Norman Mack of The Villages, Fla., Dennis and Maricela Drabiniak of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Arleen and William Carter of Cortland, Ohio.  Mom also has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mom was an active member of Believers Church, located in Warren, Ohio, where her son-in-law, William Carter, is an associate pastor.  Mom loved listening to her Kenneth Hagan CDs, visiting with family, especially with the grand/great-grandchildren or playing a good game of canasta or bingo.  Mom had a good sense of humor and if she started laughing, she laughed until tears rolled down her eyes.

Our mother was a dedicated and devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend to all of us that knew her.  Mom was a very compassionate person and always put other people’s needs before her own, even when she was going through a personal crisis.

Mom was very skilled in the kitchen and her Italian cuisine was loved and appreciated by all.  Our mother was a true blessing to all that knew her.  Mom will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

“There is no greater gift a mother can give her children than to pray them to the foot of Jesus’ cross.  There is no greater gift a child can give a mother than to live their life for Jesus.”

Thank you, Mother.
