David W. Way, 66, of Poland died Sunday morning October 22, 2017 at his home after a three-week battle with cancer. He was born April 21, 1951 in Youngstown, Ohio and had been a lifelong area resident. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Anna Mae (Hess) Way.

Dave was employed in the Steel Industry for many years, most recently as a project manager for Glunt Industries. He was a member of Evangel Baptist Church of Boardman, for 41 years. He was also a 1969 graduate of Boardman High School and had been an Air Force veteran.

Besides his Family, Dave’s passion was fishing and working on old cars. He was known to be able to fix anything & immensely enjoyed helping others. Most of all he loved spending time with his family & friends.

Dave will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his beloved wife, the former Bonny Lowry, whom he married August 20, 1972, he leaves his three children, David (Tina) Way II of Milwaukee, WI, Kelli Way of Youngstown, and Michael (Kathleen) Way of Severna Park, MD; six grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Joshua, David III, Morgan, and Aunnie Way. He also leaves two brothers, Richard (Joanna) and James (Diana) Way, both of Poland and his much-loved dog, Sadie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 27, at Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd, Boardman, OH 44512, with Pastor Randy Brunko officiating. Family and friends may call before the service from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dave’s name to Evangel Baptist Church or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.

The family would like to extend its thanks for the enormous outpouring of support during his brief illness. We would also like to thank Hospice of the Valley for the excellent care he received.
