David  S. Preston of Warren, Ohio entered peacefully into rest on Saturday, August 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was 82. David was born the son of the late Earl R. and Laura (McElarth) Preston on July 7, 1934 in Warren, Ohio and was a life – long area resident. He was a retired firefighter for the City of Warren for 27 years, retiring from his duties in 1987. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Warren, a life member Elks Lodge 295, the Cortland Moose Lodge 1012, the Old Erie Lodge  #3 F & AM  and was inducted into the Warren Sports Hall of Fame at Warren G. Harding High School  and had faithfully served in the United States Army.

            His greatest joy was spending quality time with his 3 grandchildren he adored along with playing Bocce with his longtime friends.

            On April 9, 1960, David was united into marriage with the former Judy A. Stephens and had shared 56 loving years together. His memories will be remembered and cherished by those he leaves behind, his wife, Judy  of  Warren, Ohio, sons, David J. (Kris) Preston of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Douglas S. (Michelle) Preston of Cortland, Ohio, brothers, Ray Preston of Virginia, Larry L. Preston of Warren, Ohio, Jim E. Preston of Bristolville, Ohio, sister, Judy A. Pearson of Warren, Ohio 3 grandchildren, Matt, Morgan and Nick Preston. David is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Emerine.

            Funeral Services will be 12:00noon, Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, NE, Warren, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 10:00am to 12:00noon at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Mary Ann Short.  Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, Ohio.
