Boardman – Barbara J. Chichak went to heaven to be with her Lord on Friday, January 6, 2017. She was at her home, surrounded by her loving children. Barbara was born November 27, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, to William G. and Mildred Emch Bell. Growing up in Boardman, she attended Boardman Schools and graduated from Boardman High School. She was employed by Erie Lackawanna Railroad for many years as a secretary. After retirement from the railroad, Barbara worked as a medical receptionist. Barbara dedicated her life to Christ. Her faith was the foundation on which she raised her family. She was proud to have instilled her beliefs in her children. Barbara was a member of Greater Life Church in Boardman. She loved music, singing in the choir, growing flowers, and giving gifts to others. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and family. She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Amy Chichak of Boardman; her son: Dr. Michael (Kelly) Chichak of Canfield; her sister: Joanne (Kenneth) Ahlquist of Canfield; brothers: Richard (Jeri) Bell of Poland and David (Teresa) Bell of Youngstown; three grandchildren: Grant, Carter, and Joy, her nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Greater Life Church.
